Speed sensor question

I need help!?! I would like to know if anyone out there know's about the speed sensor in a RB25. . . . I need to know how many pulses per mile the sensor sends?

Just unbolt it, and bolt in one from a manual ka24de transmission and it works

The RB25 transmission is different than the RB20. I pulled the speed sendor out of my KA24DE and tried mounting it to the RB25 transmission and it doesn't fit. The RB25's sendor has a shaft that is about an inch longer. Kamin, if you got yours to work, I would love to know how. That is the one problem that I have just been using the Apexi Rev/speed meter solve, until I break down and my a modulator to get the stock speedo correct.

**** my KA speed sensor worked without a hitch in my RB20 transmission.

there is a diffrence between the auto and manual ones, also between the rb20 and25 gauge clusters (cable and electronic)

Wait. So the KA24DE's speed sensor works with the RB25 DET transmission? DE is the duel over head cam right.

I belive the RB25 is differnt than a RB20 and the KA will not work in the RB25 trans, but only try one of them....

i dont think that you can get your KA speed sensor to work with the RB25 transmission, but it works for the RB20

The KA sensor in the Rb25 trans!!!!!!!! it did not fit....to small and short...

So what can I do to solve this?

mckinneymotorsports sells a modulator to make it work with your stock cluster (or at least I think they do) . I am using an apexi RSM for now (cheap and easy to instal). I am also planning on finding a cluster from a 300zx and see if that speedo will work, since the transmission in the RB25 and 300ZX or similar. (just haven't found one yet to try it out.)

Try using the KA speed sensor gear on the RB25 speed sensor.....I believe that it is just the pulses that are off. Not 100% sure, but it's worth a try.

have anyone consider fitting in the z32 speed sensor into the rb25 transmission? knowing that both transmission share the same gear box except the front bell-housing.
