Speed Sensor problem?

For some reason, my speedometer only works occasionally. It works randomly. It usually works when I go highway. Do I need a new speed sensor? I know it isn't the cluster's problem because it works sometimes. Help

my too but when my its not working when im at 3or 4 or 5 gear and when i floor it on 5th gear at 3500rpm like it cuts out and i have to wait until it reaches 300rpm it can work thats wierd but it only does it when my speedo its not working.
