Speed Sensor Problem, help...

When i connected my transmission speed sensor wire to my battery box plug (i had automatic plugs so I had to do it manually), my speedometer like double the mile...so i'm going 30 mph, the speedometer says 60, so when the gov. kicks in at 120, my car stop at 60 mph. I just bought the 89 240sx ka speed sensor for it. Is there way that I could have splice my 2 wires backward? It's yellow green and yellow black i think from the transmission s.s harness.

Does anyone know this problem???? I tried to switch the yellow/blue and yellow/black around but still, my speedometer still read twice as fast. Someone please help.
