speed sensor on 94 pickup

Has anyone out there had a problem or replaced the speed sensor on a std. 94 ka24e? I tried to remove it to check for worn gears but it is stuck and I don't want to break it off in the transmission. Any help would be great.

grab it whith some cannel lock pliers and rotate it back and forth while pulling on it, the oring is holding it in place by twisting it you break its seal on the trans housing.
