speed sensor changed now what?

so i changed out the speed sensor on my car and my speedo is all over the place. It works sometimes but not always. I searched on here before i decided to post after I was unable to find out what was wrong. any help?

Does it only happen at certain RPMS or all the time?If you have a FSM then find where the speedometer/speed sensor gnd to and clean/check the ground.

I had this happen with my Tachometer like 1 week after I spray-painted some of my interior. My Tach would be off by a few hundred RPM's and would randomly dance around. I found where it grounds too and cleaned the gnd by using a file on the body and bolt and it hasn't happened since.

I will look into this thanks. I know the sensor is fine, it clips into another wire that i'm guessing leads to the ecu or something that I am going to check out.
