Is this the speed sensor pickup? This is a transmission from an S15 6 speed? I thought they had sensor in rear diff?

Is this the reverse light switch? it is directly below the shifter!

I was in the process of wiring in a Dakota digital VSS to make the speedo work.

But if this transmission has the sensor I'll just wiring that in!

Well i can't say anything for sure since it has to do with a sr. But if the sensors are in the same place on the sr trans as the ka trans then the very first sensor, by the bell housing should be your reverse lights and the speed sensor should be located close to the shifter hole. Im pretty sure its the second one from the back of the trans.

As for the 3 connectors, one of the is the inhibitor plug, pretty sure its the one with big red wire going to it. You need that to make your reverse lights work. But if your doing a 5spd swap then you have to hard wire it to the sensor, if not then it should connect up with the trans harness.

On a side note, that big red wire that runs to the inhibitor plug, did you do that yourself or you got it like that??

The one below the shifter should be a neutral switch and the other one should be a reverse switch. In an s15 the vss was in the differential.

Thanks!

I figured that was it. Neutral has to do with cruise control engagement.
