Is anyone having any issues with this? I bought mine last night and it doesn't seem to be working. My friend has a car with this feature and I love it. I rented a Civic and it had it. Is there something I have to do to activate this feature? Does the radio have to be at a certain volume for it to work? I know it wasn't very loud last night when driving with my mom in the car so maybe it was down too low? But I did turn the volume up to test it and it didn't get any softer when I came up to a stop sign. Anyone have any advice or info? I'll read my manual later today or tomorrow. Like I said, I just bought my new Rogue last night! Happy though!

You probably don't have it turned on...

I turned it off on my wife's Rogue because it kind of annoys me.

It'll be under audio settings on the radio (or that's where it is on her Bose)

Thanks for the info. I found it was off, but when I turn it on, on either low, mid, high it still doesn't seem to be working. I'll check my manual as well. Thanks for the replies.

the speed sensitive control in the rogue sucks. In my g35 it used to go way up on HIGH setting when i was 40+. In the rogue u dont notice it. VERY little gains

I have to throw my two cents in here. I've been trying to figure out how to get this to work with it turned ON. It doesn't do anything as far as I can tell. I test drove a Scion xB when I was looking at cars and that was the only car where the audio adjustment was spot on. I could tell immediately what it was doing and it was as accurate as I was hoping for in the Rogue. Wasn't meant to be I guess..............

I have mine set to "High" and boy, I sure know it when it happens.

It's only seems to adjust to engine noise, though. Wind noise from an open sunroof really doesn't change it.

I suppose that means it's actually tied to the tachometer and bases volume on the numbers (it's not actually "sensing" sound)...

Isn't the object of the auto gain to compensate for road noise and not blast you out. It has three settings if I recall right (low, med, high). I thought high was too much so I set mine to medium. I would suspect with the window down or the radio maxed to begin with you would not notice a difference.

I cant get this to work or notice a difference at any setting. Anyone have any luck with this on the 6 CD Bose System that comes in the 2010 SL? Very dissapointed in this feature. I almost want to complain to the dealer about it.

Try the settings using the audio buttons as others have described. If this doesn't help, try the dealer.

I have a 2010 SL and have been very pleased with this feature. I wish I had it in my Altima, and quite frankly I'm not sure why it's not offered more widely. Heck, my wife had a mid-90s Cavalier that had this option! Back to the original topic, the speed-sensitive volume works very well for me. I would put my money on it being tied to vehicle speed, not actual cabin noise, and it's very predictable at what point when I'm slowing down that I notice the volume decreasing. Keep in mind it's not a drastic change -- it's very subtle in its attempt to keep the radio volume relative to cabin noise as you speed up/slow down, but it should be noticeable, especially when set to high.

Speed sensitive audio volume? WOW...Now that would be some futuristic Star Trek or is that 1980's Kit that black car with the side to side light.? I know that Bose has the headphones to cancel sound so to make things quieter. And how audio compressors work to control volume. But speed sensitive? Thats some new stuff....yup!
