Speed-o mind of its own!

Ok my problem is that the speedometer does whatever the hell it wants. Sometimes it works fine and then other times it don't move or the needle will go crazy! Does anyone know what this may be or a fix?

mine would just not work for a little right after I would start the car, then after a few 1/10's of a mile it would kick in and give me a reading.

Yea it does that too. And one of my friends has the sane year and his will do it too, just not as bad as mine. But over time it gets old really fast.
