Speed limiter???

I'm just curious... is there a speed limiter in the coupe? I know for my friend's '05 altima sedan the engine would just stop if you go pass 120 or something like that. If there's a limiter, is there any way to take it out?

I beleive all cars in the USA have a speed limiter due to liability.

They can NOT allow a car to travel faster then its tires are reated for.

So, if you have a low OEM speed rating on your tires you will have a low speed limiter in your car.

Do a speed rating check on the OEM tires and I bet your will find your aswer - or at least a number close to it.
