ok, since in the FAQ it says u can cut a wire, but i have possibly another option. my friend works at a dealership so he has access to those computer thingers, and he says that its possible to hook up the ECU to one of those and delete/rewrite the programming that limits the speed and RPM, is this possible and if so, would it be hard to do or not? also, is it safe?

it is easy to do.the JWT chips do this.

Takes about 5 minutes if you know what you're doing.

thank you, ive been searching the forums but everyone uses that wire cutting idea, which i guess works, but i think this is way safer and cleaner. any downsides to getting rid of the rev limiter and speed governor?

yeah when you misshift you will shoot a piston through the hood, well more likly float a valve, rev limiters are good, speed limters are bad:ylsuper

i meant moving the 4th and 5th rev limiters to the redline, not getting rid of them, i need this car to last, so i cant do unhumane damage to the engine

what wires can you cut on an S14 to remove the speed limiter??? I have seen people say that cutting the wires doesnt work? I need to get rid of the limiter.

If you unplug the speed sensor from the transmission (effectively disabling the first governor) you will throw a code after about 10-15 minutes saying that the VSS is fux0red. I am assuming that if you cut the VSS wire from the ECU, the same thing is gonna happen. Easiest way to do this if you want to get past the speed limiter is to throw a switch on the VSS wire to the ECU and just unplug your 5th gear sensor in the transmission. You aren't gonna throw a code because of the 5th gear sensor.

where is the 5th gear sensor? And where did you get an LSD for your ride? thanks.

Got my LSD from a junkyard in AR somewhere. The 5th gear sensor is plugged into the transmission somewhere, check a service manual.

ok, so i can reprogram the speed limiter, or turn it off completely, but, can i reprogram the 4th and 5th rev limiters to a higher rpm, ala redline or thereabout, or will that be bad for the engine, like the guy said before?
