Hmm... this board definately isnt big enough for two Dereks with 93 manual 240s...

Anyways... the two limiters you will hit in a 240... will be the gear limiter and the speed limiter. The gear limiter limits you to 5000rpm in 4th and 5th... to get rid of this, you jsut have to trick the car into thinking your never in 4th or 5th :D

The Speed limiter might only be on autos, as ive never hit it on mine... but ive never actually tried to hit it... ive burried the needle quite a few times... but ive slowed down soon after since either my wheels or drive shaft are getting out of balance, and the car shakes quite a bit at those speeds.

To disable the gear limiters cut or unplug the 4th and 5th gear sensors (Top and OD position). They will be the two middle sensors on the passenger side of the transmission. Heres a visual for ya:

Sorry to bring up an older thread, but I want to do this also. Can stock internals hold the RPMs over 5500 in higher gears? I've seen people post that they have had problems after unplugging.

I don't want to jump into something that would **** up my trans or engine.

a simple solution is using an automatic ECU. I got one from a junkyard, and has been working for my 93 KA no probs!... it jumped down my pants and followed me home, so I couldn't deny it, it's rightfull place in my car.

hey... p00t ... i think you are wrong on that... i think it just depends on the car you have.... i mean... my 91 fb white automatic.... was running like unlimited... it's an LE model too... i dropped that speed needle till it hit the bottom dash... and it's still increases... speed... never died or shut of or rpm bouncing back..... i was hittin 5,000 rpm with top gear(OD)... while the thingy hit the bottom.... and after that... it's kinda hard to raise the rpm.... guess needs more power... and it's also stock.

i was definately going just by what Ive heard, no hard facts on it since I dont have an auto.

Kinda odd that they would only limit the manuals tho... oh well.
