Hey everyone what's up.

Now I know how to get around each but Im curious to know how you guys got around it. I've seen some ka-t vid's where the guy burys the needle and is till going. Now my speed controller kicks in at 190km/110mph ish, so to bury the needle 2 things are happening.

1) The gauge cluster is working properly

2) No speed or rev limeter has kicked in.

So how was this accomplished? The person was not running a stand alone management computer or anything of that nature.

Could someone shed a little light on this for me? I want to remove at least the speed controller, without losing my gauge console, when I turbo my KA soon.

Thanks very much and take care.

The rev limiter is still there, but the speed limiter is removed. It is linked to your fifth gear sensor on your transmission. Assuming you have an manual, not sure about the auto, although I'm willing to bet its similar.

Yeah I know about that but it was my understanding that when you dissconect that sensor you lose your speedo and tach. I was also told it's the 3rd sensor.

Now was I missenformed? If it's not true and I can keep my all my gauge's working, DAM Im doing that tomorrow.

BTW, I drive a 91 240, 5spd.

So could someone shed a little light on this for me?

it says there that you take it out from the ecu, cause the speedo cable gets the signal first from the transmission, then goes to the speedo, then to the ecu, so you wouldn't really loose the gauge's...but don't count me on this....i really haven't tried this, i just read from 240sx.org

Ive disconnected both 5th and 4th gear sensors (which cause 5k rpm cut) and my car still hits the speed limiter at 115-120 mph.

Car is a 93 manual base model.

I have heard that auto ecus swapped into manual cars solves this issue. I havent tried it myself though.

You also have to clip one of the wires running to the ECU. its a yellow wire with a green stripe. I can't remember which one it is though.
