specs on type-x silvia??

i was looking through the car trader and there is a " 1991 nissan 240sx type -x" for sale emported from england. its a RHD and has a SR20DET factory installed i was wondering if anyone knew about hte other differences that a UK spec type-x would have other than the SR20DET ...

I never knew they made a silvia type X. I have only seen the 180sx type X. Are you sure it has a trunk and fixed headlights?

Well i thought that the type x was only from 96-98 and i believe all that the type x was just a different aero style, not positive though.

yea, that's not right.there were 4 different trims - type s, type g, type r, type x, and all were available in all of the production years of the 180sx. the only differences were not in the aerodynamics, but in the engine as well -- not all SRs are turboed.

are you sure? i also thought they were new models. as for the differences i believe that it was only cosmetic when compared to the other turbo 180. hell i probably dont even know what is going on.

I believe there were some minor tuning changes with the type X is 96-98 as well as the changed aero...

ok just double checked and it is 1997-1999. and it is not aero. all 97-99 had same aero pkgs. so it depends on turbo.

so this 180 should look just like a 240 of same era. double check that it is a det. i know it says type-x, but it kinda sounds like a ricer lure.

no, trust me. the older model 180s were also available in "type-x" trim. its just not what most people think of when they see type-x cuz it looks exactly like our 240 f/b. but if it is a real type-x, then it is turbo, and it does have the aero package.

im sorry my post was a little confusing. you are right type-x was available through all models. the 97-99 had different aero package aka kouki. kouki tailights are the ones everyone wants, like the picture posted earlier. i honestly dont know the difference between the s, g, r. but like stated earlier the x is turbo.

Type-X had turbo + aeroType-R had turbo + no aeroType-G had no turbo + aeroType-S had no turbo + no aero

As far as the aero parts go i think the only difference on the cars with aero is they had the lip, side skirts, and wing.

the 91-93 look the same as the usdm ones. the 96-98 are the kouki. this is the kouki

like said nothing but engine. it will look the same as a 240 of same era.
