Hey folks,

Long time, no post. I've been enjoying my 07 coupe, but with 13,000 miles on the clock the rear end is starting to slide all over the place. This is a leased vehicle and I'm about half way through the lease. 07 coupe with performance handling package, so I have the 19" rims with 225 40R19's on the front and 245 40R19's on the rear. Any suggestions on a tire that will perform well, run quietly, get me to the end of my lease (another 15,000 miles) and not break the bank? Discount Tire has Pilot PS2 that will fit, but says the Yoko Sdrive doesn't come in the correct size for the front tire. The pilots would be over $1500 for the set. Ouch! Help me out here.

Thanks

I have the exact same car and model. Mine has 38,000 miles on it. The Bridgestone RE 00050 A which you have are horrible tires--I will never ever buy them again. I switched tires sizes and brand and they are awesome. I use Toyo Proxes T1R and my tire sizes are

245x35 R19--front

275x35 R19---rear.

They fit great and they work excellently. If you can add nitrogen to the tires, you won't be disappointed in the long run and short run.

I second the Toyo Proxes T1R's!! Great tire! I also went with the wider sizes as Jacko3 indicated.

I would buy used 245 40 19's on ebay... they will get you 15k miles and you will be fine! I just bought 2 for 90bux plus 15 for shipping

150ish will buy mount and balance 2 used 7/32 RE 0050a or what ever they are on ebay then take them to tires plus to have them mounted.

Toyo T1R's are what I'm running. $220 for the 245.40.19

about $860 for 4 of the stock sizes + shipping

Thanks for all of the replies. I'm trying to track down a decent price on the Toyo T1R's here in town. Still have a few places to call, but it looks like around $1200 will get all four mounted and me on my way.

Cheers,

Paul

Thats too much. Just order them from http://www.tiredeals4less.com and have them shipped. Cost to mount will be about $20 a tire. Its gonna save you $200

Tire Update:

Got the TOYO T1R tires installed a few days ago and am VERY happy with them so far. Haven't had the car up to speed yet, but am getting normal (GREAT) traction on the surface roads to and from work. I put stock sizes back on. I think they might be a little quieter than the OEM POS that they replaced. Thanks for the advice. I can always count on fast answers here.

are these better than having 4 of the 245/40/19's? the price pretty much evens out....

245 sounds about right but... 275 on the rear??! Aren't the stock size 19x8.5? I'm running 245/35/20 on mine and its 20x8.5...

Are you talking about that stickied thread on the rims/suspension forum? I think it meant that people with aftermarket rims (with a width of 9.5) run 275... I think thats too much for 8.5... correct me if I'm wrong.

hmm... interesting..

Not to thread jack but I'm running 20x8.5 with 245/35/20 all around. I was thinking about staggered tires but didn't think 275 on 8.5 was possible...

I've been running 275/35/19 with the OEM 19s for 17k miles. Much better rear end traction than OEM. The rim width is 8" front and 8.5" rear. There have been long debates on whether the 275/35's will safely fit on the rear...even if tirerack.com had them as an optional size.

i might try that....sounds logical....how much tread is worn off after 17k miles?

I went with a set of the Pilot PS2s after the lame Bridgestones. Infiniti had a deal, buy 3 and get one free last summer. They run much quieter and don't hop as much over bad roads. I have the same 19s that you do and the tires will fit the same dimensions. I have 13k miles on them already and they are wearing better than the stock junk. I'd give them a thumbs up.
