For a car that is goign to have that much power.Go buy a new one. Do you really want to be in the middle of a race or long trip and be thinking that everything is safe EXCEPT the rebuilt oil pump, on whether or not every screw is tight

MAXIMA/280zx pump will flow more. But if you instal an oil pressure gage u can tell what shape urs is in based on readings. Also rebuilding is a s good as new , but generally if u change oil on time etc ur pump will outlive ut motor without a problem

Not on DOHC, but they do on SOHC. Also, 225 is a pretty good deal. When I was working at Adnace they were 375 and not available. Make sure that you are getting the right one. Because there is a huge difference between the two pumps. Like that the DOHC pump is the entire front timing cover. You buy it as a set, and it is driven by the snout on the crank. I have seen some nice high volume units at a similar price (will try to get a link later) and since they are not driven off the distributor like a SBC, there is no need for brass distributor gears or special shear pins. Also, will not hurt the life of any components, just cost you a little power.

You can raise the oil pressure of the pump yourself. You add a washer/shim underthe spring inside the pump which increases the spring tension therefore increasing the oil pressure. It's somthing done alot on the Skyline GTR do to oiling issues once you get to any decent horespower or increased RPM.
