Does anyone make a Head Saver style gasket, or a High Performance thick gasket? With everyone's suggestions, I may have to take off the head and mill it again, if I do, it will be beyond limits. Besides difficulty getting the engine timing right, the engine will be almost 10:1. Hardly good for more than 10psi. I am hoping they make one, or I will just have to take my chances. Please let me know if you know of one.

If it's a DOHC engine, I have one better than that for ya...

How about you send me $50 and I'll send you a spare head I have? It's in good shape, you'll just need to transfer the cams/valves/springs/buckets. I hate to see anyone use an oversized gasket to cure a problem.

Let me know if you're interested.

But what about shipping? Also, what would be wrong with an oversized gasket, I have found a 2mm cometic, which should actually lower the stock compression = more boost.

Lowering compression via spacing the quench area further from the cylinder deck usually results in a knock-limited engine, meaning that it's prone to detonate/pre-ignite before MBT is reached. I don't like knowing that I can't reach MBT (mean best torque) because the engine likes to knock.

Just send me $50 and I'll ship you the head, man. Honestly, I just want it gone and I'd like for you to have a good head, not some cobbled together engine.

So thicker head gaskets cause knock is what you are saying? Is your head straight?

Lots of people use the thicker headgaskets. It's not so much that they cause knock all the time, it's just that you might not be able to reach MBT at lower boost levels (sub 15psi).

Yes, the head is straight. Heck, if you want, I'll get a price for shipping and you can just pay for that, then once you examine the head, pay me the rest. I'm not tryin' to rip ya'.

That's a good deal on the head. I almost trashed mine when gas got in my oil. 5 more minutes it would fo been gone. It killed my cam........

My compression problem was caused by incorrect cam timing. Problem solved. But a guy in the classifieds section was looking for a head, so I told him to ask you guys. Thank you for the help.
