A couple days ago my clutch decied to crap out on me, so right now im trying to decide on which clutch i should buy... a stage 2 spec or a stage 2 ACT street/strip clutch. The SPEC is about 20 dollars cheaper but which one is gonna be more reliable, and which is gonna last longer??

I've had good experiences with both on a variety of cars. ACT's on hondas and nissan's and a spec on a sr s13. I'll admit tho, I was very impessed with the Spec for the money.

Screw them both. I'm getting an RPS as my next clutch. If its good enough for the Supra guys, it's good enough for my homely s13. ($245 for a stage 1 (street) clutch for an s13 from Titan Motorsports)

I was leaning towards the spec because of its price but i read on nissan performace mag that i could use a ACT Clutch for a Maxima, so right now im more confused.. the spec is cheap, and good enough to last, but the ACT is just pure sex... so please give me some more opinions...

oh and im sr'd, i also talked to guy that told me their isn't much of a difference between a stage 1 and stage 2 clutch. so i was thinking about getting the stage 1 spec for 40 dollars cheaper than the stage 2. But who knows...

Dont screw with a spec clutch. they're decent, but if you go w/ ACT you know you will NOT have to worry about it crapping out on you for a long time. Trust me, I have many friends with LOOOOTTTSS of power in their cars and the ACT clutches have been their longest lasting, best all around clutch. They'll tell you to go with an ACT in a heartbeat.

I personally have the ACT Street and wouldn't trade it, except for another ACT.

funny, my roomate has an ACT on his 240sx and he won't stop complaining about it.

I don't have personal experiences with either brand though. Good luck!

ive never had a spec clutch, but i have had both the act hd plate with street disc, and the xtreme plate with xtreme 6 puck disc.

i daily drove the xtreme plate, 6 puck combo. i loved it. it took me maybe a few days to get used to the quickness of it engaging, and i like a hard clutch pedal.
