spec-v transmission swap?

A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Would anybody know if it is possible to swap out the crappy CVT from a b16 2.0L and drop the Spec-V's 6-speed in its place? The car would be soo much more fun to drive with some extra pony power to those little 16" wheels!

I've never seen it done before, and it would probably be big project with lots of custom parts having to be made, that's not to say it can't be done though, they've made AWD Mustangs lol.

Haha yeah I can see the headaches now. I'll have to do some research on any possible ways to 'beef up' the cvt. Maybe the ground strap mod... I'll check it out
Thanks!
Sweet ride BTW!

Will do!
Maybe even the 2.0 S manual swap... Not sure if it's any less of a headache to do, but I'll check it out and post what I can find.

I'd be willing to bet the 2.0 manual swap is do-able. B15 guys do 1.8 auto to manual and SE-R Auto to Spec V Manual swaps pretty frequently.

Yeah man, I talked to my buddy in the service department at SB Nissan and he said he's seen it done twice now and it's pretty painless with the right tools. I was quoted around $2K for all of the parts minus the clutch, fork, and throwout bearing.

Might have to jump on that pretty quick!
I'll definitely post pics from start to finish

So has it worked? I am asking because I have a 2010 sentra sr with a blown cvt and I was trying to figure out if I could swap to a manual.
