so i have been searching and doing my research and i have really come to a pickle. I currently run 2002 spec v rims on my s13 and as yall well know, it has a lovely +44 offset. Now i just recently gained a reason for having to upgrade my brakes as not only do i have a tad bit more power, but i think im need of new pads as it is. So, i got a lovely deal on some z32 calipers and rotors, but im very concerned as to the clearance of em with my current rims. Now obviously spacers will have to be used, but if they are too excessive, i would rather just slap on some q45 brakes and call it a day. Will i still have clearance issues with the q45 brakes? I havent heard of anyone running these rims and those brakes before so is this going to have to be one of those, "lemme get em and see if they fit?" Also can i use z32 rotors with the q45 calipers? Last but not least, if i go with the z32 calipers i have, what size spacers will i have to use and will i be able to use back the factory lugnuts?

I'd wager the Q45 brakes will fit without spacers. They arent that much wider than stock brakes. You have to use the 280x28mm Q45 rotor.

Are these the same wheels that Spec V's with Brembos use?? It seems like they'd have more than enough clearance.

no these arent those wheels. they are the first set of spec v rims to come out. thanks for clarifying the rotor question. Now i know the z32 brakes require the conversion lines but what about the q45 calipers?

2002-2003 Spec V wheels actually have a 47mm offset and will not clear the Brembo's on the 2004-2005 Spec V's. The 2004-2005 Spec V wheels actually have a 42mm offset. I hope this gives you some reference, but I don't know if you can really go too much bigger on the brakes with the 47mm offset. But then again I'm not sure what the difference in brake sizes are between the S13 and a Spec V. I'm pretty sure our brakes are the same as the old Maximas, with like 12.3" rotors or somthing like that.

Hope this helps you out and good luck.

EDIT: Stock 2002-2003 Spec V's have 11.2" rotors, I was going on memory and was way off. Brembo equipped 2004-2005 Spec V's have 12" rotors up front.

Ive read the Q45 calipers use the same banjo fittings as the S chassis, but you can get stainless steel lines from http://www.SPLparts.com for $45 per axle. It will help you take full advantage of the new brakes. No sense in having stronger brakes with the flexible OEM rubber lines.

thanks for the info. i am gonna end up selling/trading the z32 calipers then cuz with that high of an offset, i dont want to deal with the spacers thing. I have a thread up in the classifieds about it. also i didnt know that the 2002 spec v's came with 12 inch rotors?

I have a pair of those wheels I sometimes use as track spares. 25mm bolt on spacers and they clear my z-brakes fine but are still redicously sunken in and look like total ***, I hate putting those wheels on my car.

I apologize for the misinformation. I double checked and it's the Brembo equipped 2004-2005 Spec V's that come with the 12" rotors. The 2002-2003 Spec V's came with 11.2" rotors. My apologies again, I was going on memory, which apparantly failed me miserably. But the offsets information is correct, I promise!
