I'm looking for people who use these clutches, and how much power your car is putting down (psi on what turbo if you havn't dyno'd)

If you have toasted one, even better, tell me how much power please.

Those who have them, how is pedal feal? Engagement?

Thanks a ton.

I've had 2 centerforce d/f's over the course of three and a half years, one I just recently replaced 1500 miles ago. Pedal feel is better than stock in my opinion, engagement is quick and pretty smooth, compliments my b&m well, though I havent put it the power test. no turbo yet

I have a Centerforce Dual friction on my KAT. It holds to about 280 lb/ft of torque. I've gotten it to slip a couple of times and am going with the white bunny special when I upgrade the my turbo.

why not go to each respective website? they'll give you approximate specs on how much torque each clutch will hold.

because most clutches hold more than they are rated for? some barely make it to thier 'rating.' Moral of the story, 1st hand experience is better than what the manufacturueree says. kthx stop raining on my parade bye.

clutches hold more or less than what they're rated for because no one drives the same way (with the exception of act*). my centerforce dual friction held up beautifully on my sohc for over two years of serious spirited driving, but i've heard stories of the CDF not lasting through 500 miles. clutches are funny that way.

you can go by what people post here, but don't get uptight if you buy a clutch based on the info posted here and your clutch slips sooner.

*act is the only company i know of that is known to underrate their clutches.

well lets go ahead and pop this cherry of a question for the third time, how much power were you making while you ran your dual friction?

i have no idea. i never put it on the dyno. i only had bolt ons.

some people wouldn't dare run a centerforce clutch on a turbo engine, but ADAMHU ran a CDF on his boosted sohc for a long time. i believe he hit somewhere around 280-300ft-lbs before it started to slip. the sohc CDF is rated @ 90% over stock which is around 260-270 ft-lbs. some people have gotten no where near this range.

Quote »I have a Centerforce Dual friction on my KAT. It holds to about 280 lb/ft of torque.[/quote]erich's dohc CDF should see around 300ft-lbs, but his slips at 280.

it's all about how a person drives.

I have the spec stage 2 and I love it. Basically stock pedal feel but it grips pretty hard. I'm running 7.5 psi producing 213 hp 238 tq. I have had no problems whatsoever with it and I would recommend it to anyone.

some guys I've seen had some problems with the springs in the spec clutch kits, they put them in and after a few months of hard driving their clutches messed up and they took them out and the springs had all fallen out. if you did a search it might find the posts, I've seen them especially from SR guys, I think one CA guy too. Might be worth checking that out too.

Everyone at Secret Services absolutely abhors the Spec Stage 2, and have had bad experiences with them.I have heard that Jay (PSI240SX) (412rwhp KA-T in Orlando) ran a spec stage 1 with all that power, and to the 11 second 1/4 run.-Jeff
