i just installed a spec stage 3 clutch in my 96 240sx. I resurafced the flywheel and cleaned everything with brake and parts cleaner before installing. everything is torqued properly. When i first start the car and drive it the clutch grabs hard, as i drive around it feels like the pressure builds up in the lines. i lose all freeplay in the pedal and it gets very stiff, the clutch seems to disengage slightly and if i jump on it it slips. I cant think of what it might be. I ordered a new slave cylinder, but i dont think thats it.

Well, it's a stage 3, so it's gonna be a pretty un-streetable clutch, and nothing like stock. You're gonna have to get used to it. Sounds like you haven't even broken it in yet. Go easy on it for 500-1000 miles.

Did you bleed the clutch lines? If so, are you sure you did it properly?

lines wernt opened. i found the problem, i think the slave might be going so it wasnt releasing the fluid with the factory freeplay spec, so i gave it a little more. it seems to be fine now. i havent been real hard on it (its so temtpting). what happens if you dont go easy ?thanksjd
