She was doing a left hand turn in the rain and the rear slid out. She corrected and avoided a tall median, but hit the opposite curb almost head on.
Thanks for the info coolyun. I did a quick visual check and a test drive with the donut on and everything seems ok. I'll do a more thorough inspection using your info later.
My first priority though is finding a new rim or fixing the old one. I called a local tire place and they can fix the rim for $175-200. Is that crazy or normal for an aluminum rim repair? The other option of finding a new/used touring edition rim looks hopeless. I'm going to check the local pickNpulls though and see if I get lucky.
