Update: found one on ebay and got the old tire on it and everything is good again. I checked out the undercarriage and everything looks fine. A test drive revealed a slight pull to the right, so it'll need an alignment.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.

That looks bad. How did she manage hit a curb that hard?

I assume it iwas the front wheel that hit a curb. You need to check

1) Tension rod and tension rod bolt2) Tie rod, both inner and outter3) Control Arm and control arm bolt

You can basically replace all of them by yourseld if you are mechanically inclined. Parts will cost about 300

I think the suspension croos member should be fine....

She was doing a left hand turn in the rain and the rear slid out. She corrected and avoided a tall median, but hit the opposite curb almost head on.

Thanks for the info coolyun. I did a quick visual check and a test drive with the donut on and everything seems ok. I'll do a more thorough inspection using your info later.

My first priority though is finding a new rim or fixing the old one. I called a local tire place and they can fix the rim for $175-200. Is that crazy or normal for an aluminum rim repair? The other option of finding a new/used touring edition rim looks hopeless. I'm going to check the local pickNpulls though and see if I get lucky.

Those J30 rims also appear on ebay from time to time at usually reasonable prices.
