I'm going to replace the front two speakers (finally) from stock. I did the rears about a year and a half ago, and the fronts are so bad that I keep about 90% power on the back.

They're nothing fancy- something like a $40 pair of pioneers. But they sound pretty good, and are way better than stock.

When I put the rear ones in, I also put some new wiring from the head unit back. Someone told me that it was necessary, so I ended up doing it.

I'm planning on buying another pair of $40 ish pioneers for the front, and I was wondering if replacing the wiring was really all that necessary. Rewiring through the front door is going to be a pain...

I'm almost positive that is is not necesary to run new wire. Most shops out in new wiring if they are running an amp. You should just be able to cut off the ends and put new ones on.

I agree. I swapped out all my speakers and never had to run new wires. It is true that if you're going to run a seperate amp, you probably want to beef them up a little. But as far as a straight replacement goes, no, your stock wires should be fine.

Your stock wires are fine. May not give you enough length once you cut them so splice another then connect. I just like to rewire all cars I work on because it's only $10 i materials and I know where they are going.
