Today I installed my new speakers and tried to use the information posted here regarding the correct polarity of the speaker wires. Here's what I found.

1. You can't just plug the wires in a see which way you hear sound as one person said. It doesn't matter which way you connect positive and negative for hearing sound. You'll always hear sound. The problem is when the wires are plugged in wrong the sound can be distorted. If connected wrong the speaker cone is may go in when it's supposed to go out and such. SO in order to properly hook up the speakers in a VERSA S you must OHM out your wires and determine which is the negative/positive or you can follow my advice and hope I'm right. I tried hooking them up both ways and COULD NOT tell any difference. So I'm not sure when or how you hear or know for sure they are right or wrong.

Color Codes of Speaker Wires in a VERSA S. (Only at the Speaker not the HU)

Drivers Side Front - PINK = NEG / WHITE = POSDrivers Side REAR - GREY = NEG / Light Green = POS

Passenger Side Front - RED = NEG / Green = POSPassenger Side REAR - GREY = NEG / Light Green = POS

2. I also measured from the connector at the Head Unit to the Passenger Front Connector and found that the RED wire was Negative. This also would mean that the connector on all the speakers are Right Side NEG and Left Side POS. With respect to the speaker in the door and looking straight at it.

3. Someone also said that the NEG wire is the one facing the fron of the vehicle. This is 50% wrong!!!!!! The wires on the Drivers side indeed follow that pattern. But on the Passenger side their opposite. So don't use that rule.

4. If in doubt measure it out! Use a simple OHM meter or a battery and light bulb to trace which wires are which from the HU connector to the door.

5. Those silver things that need to be removed from the door handles are easier to remove if you use a hard plastic tool and go between the door handle and the silver peice. You have to press down on the inner part to release it. Basically if your looking at the dorr handle insert your tool directly below the locking lever and above the silver thing. Then gently pry it up and it should snap without breaking. I did all 4 without mishap.

6. When removing the part that has the door lock and window controls use a thin plastic pry and insert on the back of the panel and gently pry up and work your way toward the front. Then when you have enough room to use fingers then pull up with you fingers till it comes off.

Hope that helps some.

seems to me that they just use whatever wire in their cars. Cause when i hooked up my amp to the HU, the red wire was pos, not neg. None of the wires on my HU were even remotely close to the guide posted on here

Uhh... I thought the standard electrical wiring was red = positive, black = negative?

Not nessesarily... in the industrial world for example... red is 120VAC, blue is 24VDC or other DC.

I'm seen a lot of manufacturers going ot white and black, or green and grey or making boith grenn or both grey with a stripe.

WHen I hooked up my speakers I just made sure they were all the same. so if the speakers are out of phase, they are all out of phase together.
