My brother just sold his car on ebay, and did not list that it had aftermarket speakers all around, so pretty much if they fit my 240 then they are mine. So I was wondering if anyone knows the size of the interior speakers on the 240? are they the same as a 92 civic?

thanks for your help.

Mm...240s are stock 4x6's all around, i believe. However, they may fit 5 1/4" up front. 5x7" can be squeezed into the rear. This is just based on my car. I say just take em since you can pretty much make any speaker fit into your car :P

My 89 coupe has 4x6's up front and 6-3/4 in the rear.

if ya goto the "car audio & electronics" forum, the resident mod would agree that the early s13 were 4x6 all around.

i can confirm the fronts since i yanked the pass side & is making a speaker adaptor place outta high density fiberboard to fit 6.5" component speakers in the front...

but didn't know "5x7" can be squeezed into the rear" or "6-3/4 in the rear"

ok.. so early 240's had 4x6's all around, but what about later ones? or did you mean s13's by 'early 240's' ?

I have a 92, so do I have 4x6's all around? this is what it said on tweeter's website, also it said that a civic hatch has 5 1/4 I think. Can I squeeze those in? or would that not work?

The system in your civic is definately not the as the 240sx S13, speakers. Maybe you can use your bro's rear speakers if they are 6.5". Also is your civic and EX because in 92 the came with the acousta sound system. That allows for 6.5" all the way around plus you have the factory mylar, or plastic tweeters.

4x6 all the way around on a fb stock. You can make a bracket to fit 6.5's in the front. I've got Infiniti Kappa 3 ways in the front. No problem. Actually making another set of brackets to reduce some of the vibrations that I'm getting from the plexiglass brackets.

In the rear, you can add any size speaker given you're willing to cut holes into that trunk cover thing or fab some stuff to fit them. When I've more money, I was thinking bout fabbing some 6x9 brackets for the rear.
