I need a little advice on how to power my sub setup. I'm using four Rockford fosgate P2D48 Size 8"

Impedance: 4-Ohm x 2

Power Handling : 200 Watts RMS 400 Watts Max

Voice Coil Diameter 2.0" 4-Layer

Motor Size 38 oz. Double Stacked

Speaker Connector Dual 10 AWG compression

SPL (1w/1m) 84 dB

and one P3D410 (10 in sub)

Size 10"

Impedance 4-Ohm x 2

Power Handling 400 Watts RMS 800 Watts MaxVoice Coil Diameter 2.5" 4-Layer

Motor Size 78 oz. double stacked

Speaker Connector Dual 10 AWG compression

SPL (1w/1m) 83 db

I was curious as to what amplifier I could use to power them, and what would be the best way to configure it. I would like to run them with one amp if possible, because I need an additional amp to power my from speakers. four tweeters (100W each) and two 6 1/2in door speakers.

You really have a weird setup going. Anytime you use a odd number of subs, it really makes it difficult to get one amp to properly power them. So lets say you have a mono-block sub amp rated at 800 watts rms. If you wire all 5 of those subs to the amp, then the 10" is going to get 400 watts, and each 8" is going to get 100 watts. You would be running a final impedance of 4 ohm on the 8's all wired together and a 4 ohm load on the 10". I would ditch the 10", it's only going to cause issues and may sound bad mixed with the 8's. The only time you want to mix sub sizes is if they are noticeably different sizes.

yea, I know its kind of an odd setup. I added the 10in sub, because its just laying around unused. No one wants to buy it, so i figured what the heck. You really think that it would throw the sound off that much? I'm in the process of making a custom center console that goes all the way back to the spare wheel and wraps around. The 10 in sub would be embedded in the console, and fired towards the rear hatch. The 8in subs are paired on both sides of the c-pillar( where the plastic panel is) fired to the center and slightly forward.

Is there a way to use the 8's as mid-basses, sell the 10 and buy a 12 or 15 to use as a subwoofer? Or maybe just use the 8's in a 1.5 way "subwoofer" as in use 2 of them from 120hz on down, and then the other two from 50hz (or whever the natural shelf of the sealed enclosure ends and starts sloping off) on down to help reinforce the bottom end?

Some questions:

What are you putting this in?

What is you budget for amps?

Are the speakers Single Voice or Coil Dual Voice Coil?

If I was you I would use the four 8" and sell the 10". You have more surface area for bass but you have to get a custom box to hold them.

As for amp power, you have two factors, the RMS rating, and Dual Voice Coil (4 Ohm x 2 from you post if they are DVC).

Max power you will need: 200 x 4 = 800 watts.

JL Audio has good wire digrams for sub connections of different voice coil types.http://mobile.jlaudio.com/supp...d=145

Once you find out about voice coil type chose the right diagram.

The amp I think needs to be able to handle a 1000w at 2 Ohms RMS at least (a litte more than need is always good) and try to invest into a good amp.

My picks:

MTX TA Super ampsAutoTek Mean Machine series mono ampsHiFonics mono ampsRockford Fosgate BD amps
