So i dont know if this is the right forum, but i put in some 2x5 sony xplod speakers in the front and i had to do some cutting into the door panel. Only about a half inch section above the speaker and i wanted to know if anyone had any advice on how to make a new cover/screen for it?

Get some black sheer fabric and stretch it tight over the speaker and remount it. Or you can cut a custom plate to hold those and the originals, fiberglass them and paint to match your interior. What do the 2x5's look like? or do you mean 2 5" speakers?

You can go to any craft or fabric shop and find a good screen material, plus variety of colors. If you know someone that has a RotoZip ir 5" hole saw, you can make a grill by cutting wood or plexi-glass and putting the material on it. Or just look on ebay or at a flea market for some old grills for sale. My door speakers are Alpines from another car, but no grill, so I found some standard jensen ones that covered them fine.
