I have a 95 240sx that came with the clarion system. Since i bought my car 2 years ago its never worked, and since i love the sound of my exhaust i didn't mind. But my passengers have been complaining about my singing so i decided to get a deck. Its a decent deck, sony explode.

Anyway i by-passed the stock amp using the instrutions from the 240sx.org FAQ and everything is working great, except one of the front speakers isn't working. Its the drivers side speaker in the door. The one on the A-pillar works though, and at the deck and rear amp they're wired together not seperatly. So its wired up right at the deck and at the back. Where do i start? What do i check? If it was blown would it still make noise?

One "old timers" way to test a speaker, is touch the leads to the + & - on a 9 volts battery and see if it makes any static-y type of noise. It shold make some noise no matter what's wrong with it ... unless the wires you're touching aren't connecting to the speaker.
