Speaker help

I need serious help. I'm tryin to hook up a set of 6x9s in a friends Camaro. This isnt the fist time ive worked on a Camaro, I hate it. The 6x9s are Audiobahn AC 693. Its like a componet system but its all in one, on the back there is a mid input and high input and comes with a crossover. I hooked em up were the factory tweets were cause it fits a 6x9 (thats an american car company for ya) and nothing but the tweets worked on the AudioBahns thats when I realized its already being filtered by the stock crossovers. So then I tried to hook it up before the crossovers, same deal, so then i tried hookin up just the mid with out the crossover, same deal again. I have no idea what to try, if the speaker is blown wont it atleast move and try to work, but just sound like crap? I tryed diff settings on the crossover. Can someone give me an idea? please
