wow, that is a tight fit.... do you think there would be enough room to keep spare and still fit 2 amps flush with trunk?

Apple I can't really tell. does your sub box go all the way down to the trunk floor. Or does it go on top of the floor you built?

Possibly. It depends on the size of the amps. If you're putting a sub in both corners of the trunk, you'll have about the same amount of space left over as I had for my one sub amp. My Sundown 3000D is a pretty big amp (roughly 24" by 10"):

It goes to the sheet metal floor of the trunk. I had to remove the bluetooth/xm modules from their mounting points. They are tucked away on the side to maintain steering wheel button function. Here's a shot before fiberglassing started (should be easier to see the base of the sub enclosure):

Cool thanks, Had a fealing you boxed out the bottom. I glassed the whole enclosure, but now I see it is going to be difficult for me to cut the floor around the enclosure to make it flush. But I think I can make a stencil using cardboard to get the curve right and make it flush. If not then it looks like I will be re doing the front of my enclosure. Thats the great thing about fiberglass, if you mess up, you can just cut that part off and re do it. I might be able to get away with just cutting the bottom front portion, putting the floor in and then molding the fiberglass over that. But I would like to avoid that because I want as much air space in the enclosure as possible.

Yup, it's easy to box in areas of the enclosure that will be along flat surfaces. Also, I wanted to put the speaker wire terminals on MDF rather than trying to drill through and seal the glass. And, when I started piecing the three sections of my trunk together, it was easier to make a tight fit with the flat pieces.

From everything I read while researching, it seemed like the best idea was to use MDF where you are forming the enclosure to flat surfaces. It's faster, cheaper and easier to work with. The glass was intended for use around those curved areas. Plus, while originally planning, the base of the sub enclosure helped me visualize the rest of the build.

Hey srwong, I was going to post some pics of my build in hear, but this is your thread, so I made a official build thread. Check it out when you get a chance. Maybe it will give you some ideas. http://forums.altimas.org/zero...d=246

So have you decided which route u are going to go?

i am going to do fiberglass. it just seems more logical to go that route. Not exactly sure when I'm going to start on this. I still want to think of some designs before I actually start it.

Good idea. Plan it all out. Once you get into it you wont want to start over. It will probably be a large time commitment, but I think you'll be very happy in the long run.

yea, i don't wanna be halfway in it and be like "omg i should try this" and end up f***ing it up or something... i wanna have everything planned out, then when i'm ready i'll just bust all that s*** out.... =)
