I swear, i could search for days and not come up with what i need. I'm about to order a change of plugs from our new sponsor, sparkplugs.com, and i've been thinking about the IX iridium...even though they're like double the price, you know we don't want to cut no corners for our baby. i'm running daily 10psi off a big T3. what do you guys say? NGK IX iridium or something different?

I've used NGK Iridiums for the last 6 years with no poblems. I don't know much about the IX version though. I'll try to read up on them and see what difference is.

By the way Felix, nice trunk man, very clean.

Yeah, k240 does have a nice ride. he lives around the corner from me. we are actually rebuilding his motor for boost in my garage. What K240 probably won't tell you though is that those are his brothers rims on his ride, lol.

just messin with ya kev,

On a more serious note, NGK iridiums are the $hit. I've run them in all my cars for years and never had a problem from any of them. Just be careful while checking the gap cause it's easy to break off that little tip.

is it necessary to re-gap the iridium plugs? Because i know platinum plugs dont need re-gapping or maybe im just retarded

Always check your plug gap no matter who makes them or what they are made from...

while we're here, lets all discuss the best way to gap down plugs.

I've heard downsides to tapping on a hard surface can be cracking the electrode or whatever inside. Downside to holding it and tapping it with a hammer or something will leave the tip angled...which I dont know why is bad, but it was said was bad....

DISCUSS.

If someone would have asked about THE wheels, I would have told them they were my brothers, but if they didnt ask, im not saying anything....=]

BTW, I have broken that little tip off, on the NGK's, that was a waste of money, but at least i get to have a brand new Spark Plug in my school folder....YaaYY!!!

Angled tip means no difference, the spark arcs to the geometrical edges of the plug tip. As long as the tip is properly gapped from the electrode it should be fine.

After running iridiums, platinums, and coppers. I think I am going to stick with coppers. Honestly, for a KA being able to run such large gaps stock with the hi-po ignition it comes with you should be able to get away with a good enough gap to produce smooth power on the top end with just a good ol' $1.50 copper NGK. The Iridiums would help on a motor like the VG30DETT that has issues with blowing out the spark at higher RPMs.

When I used Bosch copper plugs the plugs crapped out on me. After few hard runs my car would idle rough and shut off... After switching to NGK platnium everything was fine...

Was the problem because it was bosch plugs or because it was copper plugs

Bosch plugs never seem to work very well in the 240's.

The $12 Iridiums are NGK's ultimate iridium plug, Iridium center electrode and platinum tipped ground electrode. IX Iridiums have the iridium center electrode and the standard ground strap.

I personally have never used the $12 Iridium plugs, so I can't say from experience if the increase in power and gas mileage is worth paying 2x more. I stick with the IX iridiums and the increase in power and gas mileage over the platinum and copper is enough for me.
