My car just died today, without warning, as I was putting across campus at 20 mph. I ruled out fuel, and found that my MSD was not producing any spark. I have a 6AL, and it is getting both the switched 12v from the red/black factory wire, and a good 12v/ground from the battery. Is there any way to test the box or coil. Also, could the box not be getting a trigger signal from the computer, how would I test this?

thanks,tb

Pull off the wire that goes from the coil to the dist from the dist end. Put on some rubber gloves (not that 12v will kill u but it will get ur attention) and hold it a cm from something metal on the car (like the bracket that holds the stock coil location) and if it strikes an arc when turning over the car the coil works, if ther is no arc then ur coil is messed up.

I dont know anything about the msd but a stock coil runs about $20 in a junkyard.Good luck~Sam
