stick with the brand NGK?rxmclaren7 wrote:i was wondering if there were any tips on which spark plugs i should get....i looked at the how to and the job seems to be straight forward but i am having a difficult time deciding which ones i need or should use...should i just go with what the how to says and go with the V-Power NGK's or should i go with the laser platinum NGK's i found on ebay or even the iridium plugs i found on ebay? i also found pulstars any one have any experience with them or should i just stick with the brand NGK? price does not really matter for me just want whats best for my car...any help will be greatly appreciated...i am looking to order the plugs next week!!!!
Good callrxmclaren7 wrote:i ordered a set of the Pulstars and a set of the NGK platinum plugs in case i dont like the Pulstars
stick with NGK platinums and return the Pulstars....it'll be a waste of time/labor/effort to install the Pulstars and then later remove them AND have to put in the NGK's....rxmclaren7 wrote:i ordered a set of the Pulstars and a set of the NGK platinum plugs in case i dont like the Pulstars
good jobrxmclaren7 wrote:so far the plugs are working good...on my latest adventure i got 21.83 MPG (actual mileage per gallon not the cars computer) that is an improvement of 2.18 MPG over my previous best of 19.65. i dont know if this is because of the plugs or just the way i was driving....i was driving no more than 10mph over the speed limit...and yes i did get the extension and put them in myself...
So now that it is 9 months later how are the Pulstar's holding up? Im wondering because these Pulstar's are actually a bit cheaper on Amazon than the NGK Platinums.rxmclaren7 wrote:thank god i dont have to do the plugs again for quite a long time....
Update:
just got back from dropping my daughter off, a trip of 342.4 miles. i averaged 23.94 mpg on this trip!! i drove just as my last posting, no more than 5-10 over the speed limit and mostly in cruse control...i was wondering if anyone has had any similar mpg readings so i can compare these Pulstar to actual #'s...
