Your welcome to try the Pulstar's if you want, no one else has yet on these forums. Bosche and NGK are the two big name brands around it seems, and many have reported all kinds of issues with Boche on Infiniti vehicles. Even some where the tip breaks off and causes severe damage to the engine. So if you want to try the Pulstar's then go for it, if not then stick with NGK brand. I think copper was the best for performance in a spark plug, but lasts the least time, Iridium is middle ground on both, and platinum lasts longest.

Avoid using Bosch plugs in Infiniti/Nissan engines. I prefer the OEM NGK plugs.

Good luck with the Pulstar plugs and let us know how it goes. Below are mixed reviews of the Pulstar:

stick with NGK platinums and return the Pulstars....it'll be a waste of time/labor/effort to install the Pulstars and then later remove them AND have to put in the NGK's....

NGK's are preferred and great plugs....when I changed out the stock plugs in my M, I didn't hesitate to put in NGK Plats...no issues :dblthumb:

thanks for the input all!! as i have already ordered the Pulstars and the NGK's i am willing to do the testing for everyone and i dont mind the labor involved...i have used NGK's on my old RX7 and know they are great (although with a rotary engine they dont last that long) i know there is a lot of hype surrounding the Pulstars and they are expensive but someone needs to be the test mule and i have elected to take that role...i will report back on the install as well as post how they work and if i feel there is a difference in power, tq, and fuel economy...i dont have access to an awd dyno so i will not be able to show definitive proof of the Pulstars...on a side note i will also be installing newish espiler springs and new front brakes...

so i went to put the plugs in today and low and behold i did not have the right extensions to reach all of the plugs!!!!!!!! so i put the regular plugs back in and i will just take it to the dealer to have them install them for me!! i also found out that my intake tube is cracked and ripped in several places!!! car still runs and drives ok but now there is a hiccup at WOT  ...yes i did put the stock plugs back in and i think it has something to do with the ripped intake tube, so i bought the Injen CAI in black...should have that by next week!

Expensive to have the dealer do it. THey will probably charge you $100 for the labor. Cheaper to just buy the extension.

^^^^^^^ I'm with you on the extension.... I did my M with the NGK laser double platnums and she runs great. I compare the plugs and they were the same part number.. Let us know how it works for you..

so far the plugs are working good...on my latest adventure i got 21.83 MPG (actual mileage per gallon not the cars computer) that is an improvement of 2.18 MPG over my previous best of 19.65. i dont know if this is because of the plugs or just the way i was driving....i was driving no more than 10mph over the speed limit...and yes i did get the extension and put them in myself...

thank god i dont have to do the plugs again for quite a long time....

Update:

just got back from dropping my daughter off, a trip of 342.4 miles. i averaged 23.94 mpg on this trip!! i drove just as my last posting, no more than 5-10 over the speed limit and mostly in cruse control...i was wondering if anyone has had any similar mpg readings so i can compare these Pulstar to actual #'s...

So now that it is 9 months later how are the Pulstar's holding up? Im wondering because these Pulstar's are actually a bit cheaper on Amazon than the NGK Platinums.

DONT GET THE PULSTARS!!!!!!! they are crap!! less than 3 months later i had to take my car back to the dealer and have the NGK platinums put in!!! i was doing good for those first three months and getting very good gas mileage but on a return trip from dropping off my daughter i threw a CEL light!! i had a code reader in my car so i pulled over and it said cylinder misfire #2...the car fired right up but went straight into limp home mode!! after i took the car to the dealer they said that one of the Pulstar plugs cracked in cylinder #2 and they had a hell of a time getting it out! lesson learned, dont buy anything that people dont recommend...this was a costly mistake by me and i was glad to be a test mule but i HIGHLY do not recommend these plugs!

Cruzad3r,

my last service at the dealer they checked the O2 sensors at my request and they were fine...according to the maintenance history they were replaced just before i bought the car so i figure i have a little bit before i have to have them replaced!! :dblthumb:

Thanks for the update! I don't have any experience with the Pulstars, but now we know to avoid them.

And, as always, for others: we recommend not using Bosch plugs in our Nissan/Infiniti engines. They may be very high quality, etc., and work well for many applications. But for some reason, too many people have had difficulty with them in our engines.

Best to stick with the NGK's that the mftr recommends. :yesnod
