NGK are said to be the best for generally stock motors. They are the oem brand, so they work well with the car. I run 10w30 synthetic blend oil.ordi240sx wrote:ive already gone to a lot of mechanics and read some stuff at the forums, it seems like the noise from my ka24e is coming from the timing chain... it is a really wierd noise making it sound like a truck or a diesel engine... one of the mechanics told me that the noise might be coming from the rocker arms and the timing chain...is it possible? honestly when i first heard the noise i really thought it was coming from the block...
the car runs preety good right now, although there are times that it feels weird specially when im cruising on fourth gear, then the engine check up would blink for a while till i let go of the gas...really weird...
the mechanic told me to tune up my car, which i havnt done for a while now so i really need to tune it up... i just want to know the best spark plug that i should use, it is for the ka24e engine...do i really have to use ngk's?
and what oil do you guys use?sythetic 20w-50?
I would say all out synthetic oil can only be a good thing, as long as it doesn't cause your motor to start leaking it, which can sometimes happen.gizzerd wrote:I would highly recommend NGK plugs and wires...that is what I use for my KA24E, and they work really well. I bought mine on sparkplugs.com, only like $35 or so shipped...not a bad deal IMO. Also, I use Mobil1 Synthetic..5W30 I think, but a lot of people on here don't recommend synthetic. I just like the extra assurance of using a good oil. Maybe I'm wasting my money, I don't know. Either way, good luck, and whatever you do, don't buy Bosch plugs or wires!
where would it leak from? and why? i just changed to 5w30 synthetic after i purchased the car and noticed a burning oil smell from the engine baynaed240sx wrote:I would say all out synthetic oil can only be a good thing, as long as it doesn't cause your motor to start leaking it, which can sometimes happen.
It could leak from anywhere oil could possibly leak from. Synthetic oil is thinner, and is more likely to leakmmm240 wrote:where would it leak from? and why? i just changed to 5w30 synthetic after i purchased the car and noticed a burning oil smell from the engine bay
I use the same oil. I may soon try switching to full synthetic though, considering that it sees about 4 drift events a year, and I generally drive it very hard.jaytheman88 wrote:Ive gotton great responce from denso plugs. Also, i use castrol gtx 10w30 synthetic blend for oil. Sparkplug.com is a great site to order anything from spark plugs to 02 sensors.
