I ordered my spark plugs from infiniti parts USA about last week and they just came in but i noticed something odd. I placed an order for the PFR5G-11 spark plugs but i got the PFR6G-11 in. Now i believe the ones i received are cold start or something? Is there a difference between these and the and the PFR5G-11s? If so, what is it?

Also, I'm planning on installing these myself so does anyone have any suggestions or tips? thanks

I replaced my plugs when I pulled my plenum, ordering all of the parts on-line from one of the Nissan/Infiniti sponsors. They shipped the colder PFR6G-11 plugs and I've been running with them for almost a year now, without issue. Colder should be less likely to pre-ignite and yield slightly lower exhaust gas temperatures, but they might also be more prone to fouling.

Keep in mind that the plenum and heads are soft aluminum. Use a torque wrench when installing the plugs, lightly lubricate the threads before carefully threading the plugs in as far as possible by hand, top 'em with a spot of dielectric grease, before installing the coilpacks and use some dielectric grease on the coilpack connectors too.

I've also read that it's necessary to remove the plenum balance tube to access the #3 and #6 plugs, so be careful with or replace the o-rings in order to avoid any vacuum leaks.

I did not have to remove anything but the coils to change my plugs.

I did my plugs and didn't have to remove any parts, but a couple of the plugs are a huge pain to reach. It took me much longer than I thought it would.
