Hey guys so my M is at 76k and wondering when is the right time to change the plugs and wires or coil packs?

For spark plugs, I would say 100K miles max, but really as soon as you want. 76K sounds like a good time to swap them out.
There are no wires. Coil packs do not need to be changed unless there is an issue with it.

Opinions will vary.

This. I would say between 80-100. I'm at 85 and plan to do it soon.

Spark plug wires remind me of the good ol' days with distributor caps. Hell, even my 1994 530i has individual ignition coils. Haven't had to deal with spark plug wires since my 96 mustang almost 10 years now (with a coil pack) lol.

Anyways, I know the recommended change interval is 100K on spark plugs, but I just changed out my wife's plugs on her 2011 328i at 60K miles (also NGK iridium plugs), and they were pretty bad. After the change, the acceleration was much smoother and it went off the line with a little more zip. I will probably do mine at 60K with how inexpensive they are ($50 on fleabay).

Yeah thinkin' about changing mine too...got 67,000 miles on mine. The factory ones seem to be the same as the NKG Laser iriduim style. There is a twin tip style made by Denso - wonder if this would be a better choice? Any other recommendations?

I believe we discussed this in another thread. Usually you ONLY use NGK's in Nissan/Infiniti products but I think the M37 allowed for a Denso plug.

Both NGK and Denso are quality plugs. I wouldn't hesitate to use either.

I have 100K on mine. They are due at 105K. In the dealership world I have seen them go much further before issues pop up. You can get the coil boots seperate from the coil if you go aftermarket. I would change the plugs and boots at the same time.

Since me and you have the same car...part number for the boots? Do you recommend the aftermarket stuff or is it better to get OEM?

You will not get them factory unless you buy the coils and those are something like $180 ea. The O
ones I found are on RockAuto.
DENSO 6718180 is a set of 8.
