Could be due to the approach angle of the socket, especially if you aren't loosening/removing the balance tube across the rear of the plenum, or try a larger size spark plug socket?

Very odd.I can get to all 6 of mine with ease ??Very long extension with a u-joint attachment between it and the socket.

Same here...with the plenum and everything else removed. New platinum plugs are good for a 100K? I'll just pull and clean the plenum, and change plugs every 100K. Next scheduled change is early in my next lifetime.

Did you stick to OEM NGK sparkplugs?

For whatever reason they're the only ones that work with the car. If you went aftermarket (Champion, Bosch, etc) your inviting trouble.

I used six Nissan Part No. 22401-1P116/NGK PFR6G-11 sparkplugs and so far, so good.

I just replaced mine with NGK PFR5G-11. The manual says that is the standard, the NGK PFR6G-11 the manual says is the cold type. I don't quite know what the difference will be but I hope that's OK.

Wikipedia says:

"For normal use, the selection of a spark plug heat range is a balance between keeping the tip hot enough at idle to prevent fouling and cold enough at maximum power to prevent pre-ignition leading to engine knocking".

I imagine hotter plugs might be better for short trips, stop and go city driving, and colder for freeway and heavy engine loads (hills and aggressive driving), especially if using mid-grade fuel.
