I pulled my plugs last week in an effort to trouble shoot some problems and was curious as to what the old ones were saying by their wear. There wasn't alot of build up, there was carbon build-up around the perimeter of the plug ( not the electrode ) and the insulator on the plug is still very white and not tanned at all. I have an article somewhere in a amgazine about this but I can't seem to find it, anyone know what ( if anything ) this indicates? I replaced them with bosch double platnum plugs set to factory gap BTW

any multi-electrode plug will not run well in our cars as they age, be careful.

White is ok.... you can use a colder plug if you wish. As the plug runs cooler the build up will be more tannish. your running the 5 series (hottest) probably, so its normal.

as long as the carbon buildup isnt on the electrodes or the inside ceramic your good to go.
