Newbie J30 owner, just wondering where the plugs are located? Any tricks I need to know about to get them out?

Thanks,

Jeff

Please don't take this question to mean I'm a total idiot, just want to make sure I'm taking the right stuff off to get to the plugs. NGK Plugs only right?

Jeff, welcome to NICO. Like any car, they are in the cylinder head. I believe the VG30DE is like the VH45DE in being a coil on plug design.

If your car didn't include a FSM, you may get one at http://www.nissan-infotech.com/infiniti/ in Acrobat format for a one day subscription. Don't forget to get the Technical Service Bulletins also. Owner's manuals for the cars covered are downloadable for free.

have you been to Carlos' http://www.fuzzycats.com J30 site? Very useful. For parts, the sponsors on the left are the best.

Visit wes.spilky.com and the plug location should be about the same as on the Q. It will give you an idea!

There are 6 coil packs. They should be numbered. Pull the coil pack and there are 2-12mm bolts that hold them on. Remove those and voila.
