Spark plug hole repair

Is there any way to repair my stripped spark plug hole, with out taking the head off?:confused:

well yes, you can do it but its rather tedious, and you will want some luck on your side. Usual fix is to get an insert (copper or brass), drill out the stripped threads and press it in. You will need to heavily grease your drill bit or reamer, thats where the luck comes in, you want to get as little chips as possible into the combustion chamber. Go to your local engine machine shop and ask their opinion. They will tell you the tools and insert that you will need.

pretty easy job actually. especially if you pull the valve cover first. go to your local vw specialty shop and call them and tell them your problem. these guys do that repair all day long. they have all the tools necessary to do it.
