howsit fellas...just pulled the plugs on my new rb30 powered cefiro and it has NGK BKR7EIX-11

now as far as i know the 11 means a 1.1mm gap (corect me if im wrong)

and the 7 is the heat range (corect me if im wrong)

now in all the cars ive owned in the past people have recomender BKR6EIX-11

what i am wanting to know is 7 a colder plug then a 6 or is it the other way around...also is this a good plug to use for my application

im running

RB30ET

rx7 550cc injectorswalbro 500hp fuel pumpmalpassi rrfprLINK ENGINE MANAGEMENT G2 V6which is running MAP and AIR TEMP sensors3 inch exhaustfront mount intercoolerturbonetics T3T4 turbo14psi boost

thats all i can think of at the mo

any help on the plugs would be apreciated

ive herd that wen u run more power than standard u should go for a colder plug????

a 6 heatrange plug is already colder than the factory specified 5.normally when a car is approaching 350hp the 6's are fine but i like to go to 7's after that...also has to do with tuning such as timing being run as well as ambient temps.also general consensus is that the iridium plugs are trash on high power setups...you'll find most ppl in this fourm rock the copper plugs with GREAT results.

yea well theyre the plugs that it got dyno tuned with so im guessing i should keep it at that....and the dizzy is advanced as far as it goes (but the tuners did that)

you do not have a distributor.

and i would check your timing. i dont care if your tuner did it.

wow, you need to find a new tuner if they're clocking the base timing via the cas/dizzy...shouldnt need to be done if you're on a full standalone.

also ive herd that the larger the plug gap u use the more power u will make but with more of a chance of spark blow out???? is this true???

and the smaller the gap the less power u get but with a lower risk of spark blow out???

is this all corect??? or wrong

wats a good gap to use out of the following (my feeler gauge)0.737mm0.787mm0.838mm

well the dyno sheet shows a good even torque etc...no pink or detonation...

but what i am wanting an answer for is the spark plugs gap

and for the tuner...hes not a moron.....does anybody here know of a place called R.I.P.S (rotorua import pro shop) which has produced the most powerfull RB30 in the world..not to mention the fastest RB30 drag 240Z....all his RB26/rb30s get tuned at infomotive....and thats were the link got tuned so i think he knows what hes doing when it comes to RBs

yes, i have heard of rob and spoken to him/done buisness with him in the past...first to have one of his intake manifolds state side.not sure why they're advancing the base timing as far as it will go if you have an adjustable ems.doesnt make sense from a tuning stand point.

as far as the gap goes 1.1mm is good all around unless you're getting spark blow out, in that case .8mm is the gen accepted gap.larger gap makes for a smoother car all around and i guess in some respects more 'power' but mainly affects drivability.
