well for what its worth the trick here is what static CR are you running, a 9:1 cr motor needs less boost and timing than a 8.5:1 motor making the same power.

i'm not 100% sure off the top of my head, I think about 8.7:1 or so...i'll look to see if I can find the motor build specs. AFAIK it has just oversized weisco pistons and a cometic HG. I wont be copying any of his tune though, just looking at section per section and comparing it to my section per section now, if that makes sense...lol

i think you're gonna find that you'll have to feed it alot of timing for it to make good power, my egts got kinda scary with 'advanced' timing for a normal engine but dropped once i cranked timing to where it is now.if you dont have an egt i'd strongly reccomend one, had i had one years ago i'd still be on stock block but doing back to back power pulls on a warm night melted the piston.

a little off topic, but i emailed you about one of your services.

well, I talked w/ my tuner a bit last night. He is a rotary boy, so isn't a regular motor tuning genious, but deff knows his ****. He said that he remembers seeing my timing somewhere in the 32* range. I'd say thats pretty high. I'll see if I can get the logs from him to compare where the timing is per boost and rpm. I'm willing to bet if i'm that high, thats why i'm breaking up, and thats probably why i'm burning thru plugs everytime I drive it.

i doubt your full boost timing looks that high...if you're on off boost vaccum then yeah for sure as my rb20 has alot of timing off boost to make up for the small displacement/low compression.are you working off of the stock pfc map?if so it sucks.

no, when i purchased the car last year, the guy I bought it from said he had a great tune on it etx.... Come to find out I couldnt even hit 22lbs of boost w/o running outta cells, even though he had been running 22lbs for a while on the motor etx. We are tweaking his tune from last year to work w/ the new setup this year. Its a long drawn out process for sure. I dont think I ever saw over 30* last year of timing, especially in boost, but we will check it out and go from there i guess.

32*????? wow, that's crazy. Is your mechanical timing matching the PFC timing at idle? (15 degrees)

sure is, i think that the guy that previously tuned the car decided to gain all his power outta timing instead of boost....pretty scary stuff lol
