Alright, so I searched about the proper gap size of the spark plugs, and it is to be 0.028, right? Some say 0.028 and some say 0.030. I'm not techy here, would that 0.002 difference change how the engine runs?

If there is too much gap, somewhere in the region of 0.040, would that make a difference? How would that change how the engine operates, or idles?

I'm going to pop off the pkugs tomorrow, just wanna see/know what I am looking for. Thanks.

I believe if you go too wide on the gap your car will backfire and if you go too small...I wouldn't know about gapping it too small. : p

But .028 sounds about right.

.03 Is stock. if you are running higher boost, upto 14psi use .028. if you are running higher boost also consider going to heat range 7 with ngk plugs. running .04 will casue severe misfire under higher boost and possible misfire under any boost at all. cylinder pressures are too high for the arc to make the longer jump.shaun

But it won't cause the engine to idle rough would it? Gonna double check the gaps today, just to make sure. Car is finally driving great, but it idles like a$$. That NSX didn't even know what raped him. :D

When my spark plugs were gapped at about .035-.040 during idle my car would just backfire and you can feel it when sitting in the car. The engine would shake very badly also..

k, sounds good. Thanks, cause my motor is shakin pretty good while idleing. Not too sure about the backfiring part though. I was too lazy to do it yesterday, but Saturday it will get done. I'll post how it goes.

Thanks.

K, I regapped the spark plugs. I found that they were all gapped to about .043. So I put them to about 0.029. The only difference that I noticed, was that the engine ran smoother, but was louder. It sounded more like a muscle car, if you can understand what i mean. Hmmmmmm. Anyone?

That is weird because when I regapped my plugs to .028 my engine ran really smooth and quiet.
