whats up guys, for the past two months I've been trying to stop my engine from knocking, but this is the strange part, its not knocking at high boost or high rpms, only at low rpms, in fact the lower the rpms are the higher the knock is. The engine is pretty much stock, just basic things like a godspeed fmic and radiator, a hks wastegate, 3 inch down pipe, dump pipe, and test pipe, greddy bov (unrecuirc.), and a safc with a good base setting and used for monitoring and for dec air function. I had my timing adv, but pushed it back to 5 degree adv. Also im using a 7 step ngk plug instead of the oem 6 step, i really don't think this is the problem, but if you guys think it might be a issue i can swap them out. OH and it only does it when the engine is warmed up. I lost, and have no clue what could cause this problem, and every thing i tried to fix it have changed a thing.

What are your compression numbers. I had oil getting into my cylinders and caused horrible knocking until the turbo was spooled.

that might be my problem since i do have blow by after 7 psi. were should the compression numbers be at, and is there any way to get around the problem. right now im running a oil catch can.

well i went to check my compression and the compression test, i think. the gauge wouldnt hold and pressure, but it was jumping like crazy. i think the most it hit was 120 range on #1 but i wouldnt rely on that since it was moving so fast and also since it could be broken cause its older then dirt

the compression cant be to bad low if i had to guess, since it would keep up with a rb20 with a T28 at 12 psi, but that still doesnt mean that over that period of time since that race that over boost has took it toll.

Go to the parts store and get a nice one that holds the pressure.

Could be timing chain rattle. Maybe adjuster sticking?
