Either a junkyard or ebaynoms23 wrote:Thanks for the info, mine is also 7 seater, im thinking on getting a spare tire also. Where did you get yours? Any suggestion? Is it available in tire shop like tire rack, etc
I would get a breaker bar and socket to supplement the combo lug/jack wrench. The breaker bar will give you more leverage when you have to break the nuts loose on the side of the road.Rogue Jarhead wrote:And of course don't forget to pickup a jack and a combo lug/jack wrench. Just a spare tire without a way to change it won't do you much good.
1. In retrospect this is pretty dumb, but no, I haven't tried mounting the spare tire yet. I'll have to give it a go once the weather improves. This is the first I've heard about larger calipers on the 7-passenger model.sroussin wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2018 12:12 pmQuestions:
1.did anyone tried to put a spare tire on those big galipers? (Front wheel vs rear whelle my be different galiper size, make sure it fits on all 4 wheels.
2.if the regular spare rogue 155 90 d16 and 155 90 d17 doesn't fit on the 7 pass engers galipers, does anyone knows which old nissan model and year, in a junkyard, would fit on those galipers? (Maybe an old infiniti or a bigger nissan like armada or quest has a bigger spare that fits rogue 7 pass galipers)
3. If you find that junkyard spare tire that fits, does it fit under the 3rd row seat storage?
The spare tire is for a 2nd gen Rogue, which is what you own, so it will fit your vehicle.
@sroussin Just want to double check. Did you mean it does fit perfectly under the 3rd row seat? Or It doesn't? If it doesn't, that means we just can't have a spare tire, right?sroussin wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 6:14 pmI’m the one that posted in 2018 that the front caliper are bigger on the 7 passengers. I heard it from a mechanic at Nissan dealerships over the phone. I haven’t change my front brakes yet so I don’t know in reality.
Well, well well, I randomly stopped in a junkyard on my way to groceries this week. I was lucky that they were unloading a scrapped Rogue from a van freshly arrived. They are rare since it’s still the same current model in 2020. They would usually get rebuilt and we couldn't get used parts. Anyway, they sold me the spare tire D17 and the jack for $100. I jacked my Rogue in the parking lot and I tried it right away on my front wheel. It does perfectly fit and the caliper doesn't seems to touch the inside of the spare rim.
Than I found out that it does't perfectly fit under the 3rd row seat! So, why no spare tire are sold with the brand new 7 passengers between 2014 and 2017?!? I now think Nissan didn’t put a spare tire and a jack to get maybe $100 more profit on their brand new 7 passenger Rogue! That’s it!
I hope this posting will help.
