Wussup my ppl I'm wanting to kno if anyone kno how to lube the spare tire carrier on my WD21. I saw a thread bout it years ago but am having trouble finding it again now. Also if you kno of what I speak also any up to date info would be good too as the last time I think the post said something bout only being able to get the tool from Harbor Freight.

That other thread mentioned using marine grease. That's a real good idea for stuff that's out in the weather. One well-known brand is Evinrude Triple-Guard, available from most any Evinrude dealer in full-size and mini grease gun tubes, and in a big "toothpaste tube".

You should be able to get the needle in any auto parts store.

I'm not sure, I haven't seen many photos of an R50 with a tire carrier. Maybe you could take some pictures of the hinge area?

sorry - i misunderstood the discussion for the the under-carriage spare tire carrier on the R50. I thought the chain-pulley system needed greasing to prevent seizing or something.
if there is no greasing point on the under-carriage spare tire carrier mechanism on the R50's please disregard this post :) and accept my apologies for an unintended threadjack :P

The chain system would benefit from some sort of lubrication periodically to prevent it from rusting and potentially breaking. I'd guess any white lithium grease spray would be sufficient for this purpose. Don't forget to check your spare's pressure and condition while you're lubing the mechanism of course! :)
