Hey guys, I am new to the forum, and I LOVE my Q! I am checking to see if any of you have a Q45t rear sway bar laying around. I'm trying to tighten up the suspension on a tight budget. I'll need the complete assembly, bar, brackets, bushings, end links, etc. Let me know if you have one and how much you want for it. An idea of the shipping cost would be appreciated as well. I'll be bolting on a set of Tokico blues before too long, but since the factory shocks are still in really good shape I'm gonna get a few more miles out of 'em. In the meantime, the sway bar will be a nice addition...

Thanks! :bigthumb:

If you search you will see that the Q45t rear sway bar is almost useless. A Q45a rear sway bar coupled with the Q45a front sway bar (28MM Q45a front sway bar VS 29MM base Q45 (Not a t or a) is far better). But tires are about 90% of the feeling then comes sway bars and shock tower bars.....

I have a link to a collection of files that was in my signature but no one bothered to read so instead of letting it take up space I replaced the link with a for sale topic. The for sale topic is about as useless as the link to the Q45 repository of knowledge but what can you do in this economy, And the fact that I only have a handful of things for sale...

I was just looking for the thread I saw awhile ago, it had the diameters of the sway bars listed and I think it was yours... Will the a sway bar bolt on to my base non-TCS car?

Sure will 1990-1996 Q45a, t, TCS and base cars are all the same and all have the holes for the bar to mount up.

Unfortunately the way the bars attach to lower control arms you divide by 4 to get the actual wheel rate stiffnes.
The 20 mm rear bar adds ~ 40 lbs per inch to spring stiffness as measured between tire and road.
People never believe their shocks are worn out in rebound control until they actually replace them with brand new!

After 3-4 years [60,000 miles] shocks are done compared to brand new.

actually i would reckon a guess that a Q45t rear sway with poly end links and frame bushigns would act very similar to a Q45a bar with OEM stuff..

Definitely though, if you can get a T bar cheap, its better than nothing, and once you get an A bar all your stuff will transfer over.

I never add bushings into mix only specify metal bar springiness. 20/15.9 = ratio^4 =~ 2.5 times stiffer for the metal alone...............rough 16 pounds with solid meta bushings vs 40 pounds per inch of wheel shift with solid metal bushings.

Rub and urethane bushing are non linear so the first inch of twist is softer than 2nd and 3rd.

Remember due to the way bars couples to lower arm divide by 4 so a 3" body roll only twists bar 3/4"
