Spare Key

I have a base model 2007 Versa. I would like to get a spare key made, but where ever I go they say they can't do it. I know if the car is equipped with the Intelli Key needs to go through the dealer, but I didn't think mine would have it.

Is there a way to get a spare without going to a dealer?

I got a spare chipped key made for my 2008 at an Ace Hardware store last year for $70, and Walmart's auto department should also be able to make one. You can get a regular key cut anywhere that will open the door, and while it won't start the car, at least you can get back in if you've locked yourself out.
