Spare Key, $3

i went to pep boys, and i got a spare key for $3, i didnt mind if it didnt start the car as i just needed one magnetically stuck under my car in case i locked my keys inside which happened a couple times. just for fun, i wanted to see what would happen if i tried starting my car with it as our keys are supposedly "micro-chiped" , so i left the reg kay in my pocket, to my surprise, it started up my qx just fine! is there somethign wrong with my security sensor or do our keys not have a micro chip?

I think that feature starts on a later year. My 1999 starts with a plain key. I don't like a big wad of keys in my pocket so my key ring is literally a key for my house and one for the car. No remote, no transponder, nada.

lol me too, regarding a dedicated key ring for my car keys haha i also have a small aluminum zippo fuel canister attached too
