Hello guys! I bought my 09 Murano last July but the dealership gave me only 1 i-key. On my previous cars, the dealership usually give 2 sets of keys. Does Nissan only give one intelligent key per car to its customer and the other one (spare) you still need to request so they can program the RFID?

You should have received 2 keys - I would go back to the dealer and request the 2nd key.

Yes, you should have received 2 keys. They are VERY expensive to replace, something like $100+ for a un-programmed key, PLUS another $100 or so to program to your vehicle. You should demand the dealer provide both keys that Nissan shipped with the car, and escalate to Nissan corporate if the dealer tries any stalling tactics.

Thanks guys. I'll call my agent and ask for the 2nd i-key.

In addition to getting 2 i-keys, you should also get a small metal tag with your keycode stamped onto it.

I got my 2nd i-key yesterday, but I don't have that metal tag with the code in it. Should I demand that too?

I suspect they lost the 2nd original i-key supplied by Nissan factory because the one that they gave me yesterday is for Mo that has power lift gate in which I do not have. They programmed that 2nd i-key to match my RFID.

I believe the purpose of the tag is to create replacement metal key(s) should both of yours become lost. I don't see why it would be difficult for them to look up your number to get replacement keys if it is ever needed. But on the other hand, better to find out now than in an emergency?

Sounds like that dealer is a bit on the stupid side, hopefully you got a good deal, than it really doesn't matter.

You need the tag because supposedly Nissan doesn't keep track of each car's code I got my car with just one key and no code also... I looked and found band new uncut and programed key's on EBAY for about 50 bucks, I'm probably going to go this route and then pay to get it setup
